Access (Driveway) Permit

For any Private Driveway (PDF) accessing onto a county road, public road, or highway under the jurisdiction of Gunnison County, it must meet the Gunnison County standards and specifications for road and bridge construction, and may be obtained from the Gunnison County Public Works department.

Highway Access Permit

Required by the Colorado Department of Transportation for any driveway or road accessing onto any state or federal road.

Surface Alteration Permit

Needed for any work done on the shoulder or in the right-of-way of a county road. Must meet the Gunnison County standards and specifications for road and bridge construction. Information and applications are available at the Gunnison County Public Works department.

Temporary Private Plowing Permit

For snow plowing access to parcels that currently have no snow plowing, it must meet the Gunnison County standards and specifications for road and bridge construction and may be obtained from the Gunnison County Public Works department.

State-Required Demolition Permit

The State of Colorado, Department of Public Health and Environment, and Air Pollution Control Division Indoor Environment Program require notification of the department for all demolitions of all facilities and all asbestos abatement projects that exceed certain trigger levels.

Permits may be requried to abate asbestos projects where the quantity of asbestos-containing material to be abated exceeds the trigger levels. If the state requires this permit, a copy of it must be submitted to the Gunnison County Community Development department.

Gold Basin Industrial Park Special Area Permit

The Gold Basin Industrial Park Special Area was created by the county in 2005 to accommodate light industrial uses next to the airport, south of the city of Gunnison. As a special area, Gold Basin Industrial Park (PDF) has its own regulations that allow permitting through a process. Click here (PDF) to access the Gold Basin Park Special Permit application.
