Mark your calendars for Gunnison’s Flu Clinic on Tuesday, October 6th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gunnison County Rodeo Grounds (275 S Spruce Street). This will be a drive-thru only, but we will not turn anyone away, however we ask that no large vehicles (i.e. RV’s) or trailers go through. The preferred way to enter is on New York Ave heading east where you’ll turn right into the Rodeo Grounds. From there you will be directed to one of four lanes. Please follow all instructions given by the staff.
The following day, Wednesday, October 7th we will be up in Crested Butte at the Crested Butte Community School (818 Red Lady Avenue) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This will be a drive-thru only as well, but again, we will not turn anybody away. Please no large vehicles (i.e. RV’s) or trailers. The clinic will be held in the south parking lot. You will enter the parking lot by heading south on Ninth Street and turning right into the parking lot. Follow all instructions given to you by staff.
We ask, for the health and safety of all, that if you are symptomatic of the flu or COVID-19 (i.e. cough, shortness of breath, fever of over 100.4) that you do not go through the Flu Clinic. Please remain at home and contact the Call Center at 970-641-7660 for guidance. Symptom Screening will take place at the Flu Clinic before you enter and you may be asked to leave the clinic if you are showing symptoms. Once you’re feeling better, you may call Health and Human services at 970-641-3244 to schedule an appointment.
Why is the flu shot important? When the majority of the population receives the flu shot, it creates a buffer between the virus and the most vulnerable populations like children and the elderly. Getting the flu shot my not stop you from contracting the virus, but you may not experience the more severe symptoms that require hospitalization or cause death.
$25.00 fee for Vaccinations
Health & Human Services will bill your insurance, so remember to bring your insurance cards. Medicaid, Medicare Part B, and most private insurances are accepted. If you do not have health insurance please bring payment of $25.00 for each uninsured person in your family. We will not deny anyone a Flu shot due to inability to pay. We accept cash, check, or credit card.
To expedite the process we suggest filling out the Seasonal Flu Vaccine Administration Record Form linked below prior to your visit. Please complete either the Adult or Child form for each member of your family.
