Food Assistance

Assistance is available to low-income families and individuals as a monthly benefit to help pay for food expenses. U.S. citizens and qualified non-citizens are eligible for the Food Assistance Program.

To Apply:

Applications are available in English, Spanish, and Large-print and can be brought into the County office to be processed. You may also apply online. If you already receive food assistance, you may check the status of your benefits by creating an online account through PEAK.

  • This opportunity is open to everyone; no appointment is required. Staff can assist with identifying appropriate programs and resources based on needs, connect you with those resources, and apply for services. 
  • Every Wednesday from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Gunnison County Health & Human Services office, located at 220 N. Spruce St., Gunnison, CO 81230. 
• Everyday Eats
  • This income-dependent program is available through the USDA and is for adults 60 years and older. Applications and information can be found on their website. Applications can be filled out and submitted through the Gunnison Country Food Pantry. The Gunnison Country Food Pantry is the only pick-up location in Gunnison County.
