Update: On March 6, 2018, at approximately 1:00 pm, officers with the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation arrested David Daniel Jackson, age 34, on the charges of Accessory to Murder in the First Degree-After Deliberation, a class 4 Felony; Tampering with a Deceased Human Body, class 3 Felony; Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class 6 Felony; Concealing a Death, a class 1 Misdemeanor; Abuse of a Corpse, a class 2 Misdemeanor; False Reporting to Authorities, a class 3 Misdemeanor. The arrest took place at the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office and went without incident. Bond is set at $100,000. Book-in photos are not yet available.
The warrant and subsequent arrest is associated with a missing person report established with the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office on May 25, 2015 by friends of Jacob Henry Millison who was 29 years of age at that time. Mid-August of 2015, a family member reported Mr. Millison missing. While executing search warrants at 5291 Gunnison County Road 76, Mid-July of 2017, human remains were discovered. Several weeks later those remains were positively identified as those of Jacob Henry Millison. The cause of death was also established.
Please understand that the charges are merely accusations and the suspect, Mr. David Jackson is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
This case continues to be under investigation.

Update: On March 2, 2018, at approximately 10:00 am, the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office received notification that the Colorado State Patrol, acting on the authority of a Gunnison County District Court Warrant, arrested 68-year-old Deborah Sue Rudibaugh without incident. The arrest took place within Mesa County. At approximately 3:15 pm the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office transported Ms. Rudibaugh to the Gunnison County Detention Center. Ms. Rudibaugh is being charged with one count of First Degree Murder after Deliberation (class 1 Felony), one count Abuse of a Corpse (class 2 Misdemeanor), one count of Concealing a Death (class 1 misdemeanor), one count False Reporting – False Information (class 3 Misdemeanor) and one count Tampering with a Deceased Human Body (class 3 Felony). There is a no-bond stipulation by the court.

On February 28, 2018, at approximately 2:47 pm, officers involved with a joint task force made up of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Colorado State Patrol, the Gunnison Emergency Medical Services, the Gunnison Police Department and the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Stephaine Jackson on a Gunnison District Court warrant. The arrest was made on Gunnison County Road 76 and went without incident. The charges relating to the warrant are: one count of Murder in the First Degree; class 1 Felony, two counts of Tampering with a Deceased Human Body; class 3 Felonies, seven counts of Accessory to Murder in the First Degree; class 4 felonies, three counts of Tampering with a Witness or Victim; class four felonies, 2 counts of Tampering with Physical Evidence; class six felonies; Concealing a Death; class one Misdemeanor, and Abuse of a Corpse; class two Misdemeanor. Bond for the criminal charges is set at $500,000.
