September is National Preparedness Month! Are you ready for a power outage?

If the power goes out, here are a few things to keep in mind:

🔌 Unplug appliances and electronics to avoid damage from electrical surges
❄ Keep the refrigerator and freezer closed so food lasts longer
🔹 If the temp in your fridge is 40 degrees or higher when power's restored, throw the food out
While using a portable generator:
🔹 Keep it outside, at least 15 ft. from the house
🔹 Keep it dry & properly grounded
🔹 Never plug the generator into a wall outlet or main electrical panel
⚠ Only use generators outside, away from windows
