Gunnison County Strategic Planning
The Gunnison County Strategic Plan was first adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on May 20, 2008. The Plan, last updated on June 18, 2024, is usually updated every two years.
In each calendar year from 2018 through 2021, Gunnison County received the Certificate of Excellence in Performance Management from the International City/County Management Association as a result of Gunnison County's commitment to data-driven performance management. The certificate program was suspended by ICMA in 2022.
Managing for Results (MFR)
Managing for Results (MFR) is a complete management and leadership strategy that, when fully implemented, brings together people, resources, and results for customers. MFR integrates key elements from planning, employee performance, budgeting, data collection, reporting, evaluating, and decision-making in a way that each stage influences the desired result. In 2008, the County began implementing MFR with the Strategic Plan, which established priorities and strategic results.
