Gunnison County owns an undeveloped parcel consisting of 15 acres and situated approximately 1 ½ miles south of the Town of Crested Butte along Highway 135 known as Whetstone Community Housing. After two years of due diligence and community engagement, the project received Sketch Plan Approval through the County’s LUR process last week. The County is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Development Partner to develop the project as described in the attached conceptual plan. The Development Partner will act as a member of the County’s team to further develop plans, pro-forma, and apply for entitlements and permits for the project. The County seeks to negotiate a Development Agreement upon final project approval with the Development Partner or may seek additional proposals if an agreement cannot be reached.
