Gunnison County, Colo – The recently released 2020 Colorado Aviation Economic Impact Study (CEIS) showed that the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport’s (GUC) economic impact nearly 24% from the 2013 study, which is equivalent to an increase of $99.5M to $121.9M annually. “This result underscores the significance of our airport to both our local economy and national connectivity. The CEIS analyzed the economic impact of 70 Colorado public-use airports, evaluating factors such as the number of jobs supported, total payroll and value added to arrive at the total business revenue. Impacts are expected to continue rising, particularly due to the $10-20M terminal renovation project that is currently scheduled for completion before the end of 2022. The Colorado Department of Transportation, under the Divisions of Aeronautics, has periodically conducted the study since 1996.
