Green Mountain Fire Update

Location: 25 miles South East of Gunnison, CO
Start Date: August 7, 2018
Size: Approximately 12 acres burning in Needle Creek Reservoir area
Percent Contained: 0 percent
Jurisdiction: USFS
Cause: Unknown
Summary: The fire is burning in very rugged difficult access terrain. Actions today will include scouting access into fire, engaging in fire suppression tactics and assessing tomorrow’s operations. Strategies planned are to flank the fire with air and ground resources.
No structures have been damaged, and none are threatened at this time.
Weather: Forecast is showing some moisture on Thursday and Friday. Afternoon winds are expected to continue.
