It is the job of the administration of the Public Works Department to coordinate activities in all of the districts. Those activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Construction of roads
  • Maintenance of 850 miles of county, forest service, and BLM roads
  • Snow plowing of approximately 215 miles of road
The activities take place within a broad geographic area and initiate out of five separate shop facilities. It is the responsibility of the administration to:
  • Communicate with the public and the Board of County Commissioners
  • Evaluate equipment and personnel use and needs of all the districts
  • Make long-range plans
  • Schedule training of personnel
