Seasonal Flu Information
2018 Health and Human Services Annual Flu Clinic!
It’s that time of year, flu season is here!
You may ask yourself “why should I get the Flu shot?”.
Well, when you receive a Flu shot, your body produces antibodies to help protect you from Influenza. We recommend everyone from age 6 months on to get a Flu shot every year. When you get vaccinated, not only are you protecting yourself, you protect your whole community! When the majority of the population receives the Flu shot, it creates almost a buffer between the virus and the most vulnerable (i.e. infants, the elderly). Getting the Flu Shot may not stop you from getting the flu, but you may not experience the more severe symptoms that require hospitalization and death.
So, come see us at the 2018 Health and Human Services Annual Flu Clinic!
Our Annual Flu Clinic will be held on Thursday, October 18th from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Crested Butte Town Hall, 507 Maroon Ave (walk-in only) and Thursday, October 25th from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Health and Human Services building, 220 N. Spruce St. in Gunnison (drive-thru & walk-in). This event helps us practice for public health emergencies so tell a friend and bring your whole family, kids too!
$25 fee for Vaccinations
Health and Human Services will bill your insurance, so remember to bring your insurance cards! Medicaid, Medicare Part B, and most private insurances are accepted.
