County Manager's Office

Purpose


The purpose of the County Manager Program is to provide Commissioner support, public information and strategic executive leadership to the County Commissioners, the public and the County organization so they can experience and deliver excellent local government.

Responsibilities


The principle functions of Gunnison County Administration are to:
  • Provide management and administrative direction to County offices.
  • Provide support for the Board of County Commissioners.
  • Implement board policies and decisions.
  • Provide direction and support for special projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of the county budget.
County Manager Matthew Birnie along with his support staff of Katherine Haase and Josh Ost are located in the County Administration Office.
